Terms of Service

KAIVA is a purchasing-agent (proxy buying) service. On your request and after your approval, we search for goods in Japan, purchase them on your behalf and for your account, and arrange international shipping to you. KAIVA acts as your agent for the purchase; we are not the manufacturer or original retailer of the goods.

You describe or select the items you want. We reply with one or more quotes. Each quote is all-in — item price + a flat service fee per item + international shipping to your address. A binding order is created only when you approve a quote and complete payment. Requesting and quoting are free.

Availability, condition and price are estimates until you pay. If an item sells out or its price changes before you pay, we may update or withdraw the quote.

Prices are shown in US dollars. The amount you pay is the quoted all-in total. Reference prices shown during search are approximate and not binding. Import duties, taxes and customs charges levied by your country are your responsibility and are not included.

Payment is taken at checkout via Stripe after you approve a quote. We do not store your full card details. We purchase your item only after payment is confirmed.

You may not request items that are illegal to buy, sell, export from Japan or import into your country, including but not limited to:

• Weapons, firearms, ammunition, and realistic replicas
• Counterfeit goods and items that infringe intellectual property
• Ivory, protected wildlife and CITES-regulated products
• Drugs, controlled substances, and certain medicines/supplements
• Hazardous materials, flammables, and certain batteries/liquids that cannot ship
• Adult or age-restricted goods where prohibited, and any other restricted items

We may decline any request at our discretion.

Because we purchase each item to your order as your agent, all sales are final and we cannot accept returns — including for change of mind, sizing/fit, or the ordinary condition of a used or collectible item. Please review the item, condition and price in your quote before you approve and pay.

A refund is issued only if: (a) we cannot source the item after payment; (b) you cancel before we have purchased the item; or (c) we send an item that does not match the one you approved. Parcels lost or damaged in transit are handled under our Returns & Refunds policy. Import duties and taxes are non-refundable.

Items ship from Japan with a trackable service. Delivery times vary by destination and carrier. Please provide an accurate, complete shipping address; incorrect addresses may cause delay, extra cost or loss.

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure. Provide accurate information. We may suspend accounts used for fraud, abuse or violation of these Terms.

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, KAIVA is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
